 Environmental Program Analyst
The Opportunity:
Process owner for all environmental monitoring programs to drive both performance and standardization across the plant network. This role will actively work with corporate functions including: Sanitation, Reliability and Engineering to ensure sanitary design improvements are data driven and principles are embedded in every step from equipment design to post installation review. As a key member of corporate sanitation and the broader HSSSE team, this position will be deployed for firefighting, coaching, training, auditing and assignments as requested.
A snap shot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:
  • Process Owner for all environmental monitoring programs including: EMP (Listeria), TPC (Sanitation Effectiveness), Pre-op (Sanitation) and Lactics. Tasks include:  Maintaining the suite of SOPs, data capture, analysis and reporting across the plant network. 
  • Supports food safety and quality efforts as requested by providing swabbing tactics and data analysis support in a variety of activities including: firefighting, coaching, training and auditing.
  • Supports the “critical to sanitation” specifications for equipment and facility design consistent with the NAMI sanitary design principles. Coordinate and maintain sanitary design checklists for key capital projects from vendor selection to post installation review (performance guarantee).
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the MLF’s HSSSE team through related projects and assignments.

 What you will bring:
  • 3-5 years of relevant business experience preferably in managing quality and food safety related areas.
  • University degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills to build and maintain databases.
  • Previous experience in a food plant is a definite asset.
  • Cross functional experience and/or participation on cross functional teams.
  • High degree of functional competency and technical understanding in a food safety or Quality Assurance role.
  • Effective change agent demonstrated through the ability to work with people consistent with the Leadership Edge Values to reach desired outcomes.
  • Effective situational leadership ie demonstrated success in applying the appropriate leadership style for a given situation.
  • Process thinker with the ability to provide clarity of thought to a given situation.  
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Effective computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Minitab.
  • Able to manage ambiguity by offering solutions rather than presenting problems when escalating issues.
  • Strong analytical skills. Able to translate data into information and insights that “connect’ with the intended audience.
  • Willing team player by helping others through support without boundaries or conditions.
  • Active learner who provides coaching and is receptive to coaching.
  • Willing and able to provide ideas / content, share knowledge, and is receptive to feedback.
  • Self starter, comfortable working independently.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Periodic work on the sanitation shift and weekends will be required.
